I have gotten to know a girl from my church well, and we like each other a lot. We used to speak on the phone all the time, as well as instant message each other on the Internet every day. But this was about six months ago.
In the past few weeks, I’ve been having some problems talking to her. She always says she is tired, or she tends to forget about me.
I can understand that she is tired because school is in session. But when she is free, and I try to have a conversation with her, there is always something in the way.
I always get, “I’ll talk to you later” or “I’ll text you”, but it never happens.
I don’t know what to think because I don’t want to bring it up again. I want to talk to her but it is never a good time for her. I feel forgotten, neglected and hurt.
What should I do?
Advice given:
I think you know what’s happening, but just don’t want to admit it because it’s hurtful. But the truth is that you are already hurting. I know it’s hard to let go of someone whom you thought was interested in you, but she’s giving you all the signs that she’s not into this ‘friendship’ anymore. You need to take heed of this. If you get a chance to talk to her, you can ask her what’s wrong, but don’t expect an answer you’ll be happy with.
Sometimes people just lose interest, sometimes people move on. It’s part of life, and as hard as it may be, just be glad that this “friendship” has only been for six months. You feel forgotten and neglected, but there is a lesson to be learned here.
Make sure you don’t treat other people this way. If you ever find yourself not interested in someone after a while, do the right thing and tell them kindly. Stop focusing on this girl and move on to other things; you’d be surprised at how quickly she’ll be of no interest to you.
I read this article somewhere in the Star newspaper and found out that what being said is true.Life have to move on no matter what.Till then.
